Serial Burglar, Sex Assault Suspect Sought In Los Feliz

LOS FELIZ (CBSLA.com) — Police are looking for a serial burglar and sex assault suspect who has targeted single women in the Loz Feliz area.

The Los Angeles Police Department issued a community alert Wednesday after detectives linked the 13 crimes together.

The crimes, which began in March, span the area from Los Feliz Boulevard and Seneca Avenue to Riverside Drive and Griffith Park Boulevard.

According to police, the suspect targets single, working women who live alone. He enters their homes or apartments through unlocked doors and windows.

In some cases, the suspect has stolen jewelry, cash, computers and even the victims' underwear.

At least three women have been sexually assaulted while asleep, police said.

"There's always a fear that somebody like this who has the propensity to accost somebody while they're sleeping, that's a dangerous situation," Lt. Andy Neiman said.

The suspect is described as a Latino man, 25 to 30 years old, 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall and 150 to 160 pounds.

He has a mustache, a dark complexion and a slim build, according to authorities.

Police hope to release a composite sketch shortly.

Anyone with information should contact the Los Angeles Police Department.
