Soccer Coach Accused Of Sexually Abusing Underage Boys

LANCASTER (CBSLA.com) — An Antelope Valley American Youth Soccer Organization coach is facing felony sex abuse charges after allegations surfaced that he molested underage boys.

Renoir Valenti, 50, was arrested on Aug. 6 at his Lancaster home and charged with two counts of felony sexual abuse of a child and two counts of annoying or molesting a child, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff's officials.

His bail has been set at $1 million.

In July, police started to investigate the suspect when a 9-year-old boy's mother told authorities her son was molested. However, the allegation was unrelated to Valenti being a coach.

Police later identified two soccer players, boys under 15-years-old, who had allegedly been molested by Valenti.

According to Sgt. Brian Hudson of the Special Victims Unit, the Valenti has coached boys between the ages of 9 and 14 for more than 16 years.

Investigators encourage anyone with information on the allegations to call Sgt. Hudson at (877) 710-5273 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
