SAN BERNARDINO (CBSLA.com) — A jury Wednesday convicted a man of murdering five people who had fatal heart attacks after he deliberately started a deadly wildfire.
KNX 1070′s Margret Carrero reports Rickie Fowler, 30, was found guilty of setting the Old Fire, which burned in the foothills above San Bernardino in 2003.
The Old Fire raged for nine days and destroyed 1,000 buildings.
In 2009, prosecutors charged Fowler with the murders of five men who suffered heart attacks after their homes burned or as they rushed to evacuate.
