Lt. Lincoln Hoshino said authorities were alerted at about 3 p.m. Monday that a body was slumped over in the driver's seat of a hearse parked near the Beverly Hills Hotel.

Garlandine Garvin, 59, apparently died of natural causes, according to police and a coroner's spokesman.

Authorities said there was no evidence of foul play.
