FOUNTAIN VALLEY (CBSLA.com) — A 17-year-old boy was fatally shot Monday during a fight in the parking lot of an Orange County convenience store, police reported.
The victim was shot in a 7-Eleven parking lot, located at 16475 Harbor Boulevard, at about 1:20 p.m., said Fountain Valley police Sgt. Kurt Ulrich.
The Santa Ana resident suffered a shot to the neck, he said. His identity was being withheld pending notification of his relatives.
The suspected gunman, whose name was not immediately released, was still being questioned by police late Monday afternoon, Ulrich said.
It was not immediately clear what motivated the shooting, Ulrich said.
