UPLAND (CBSLA.com) — The pilot of a single-engine plane was not injured after crashing upon landing in Upland.

Ian Gregor, a communications manager with the Federal Aviation Administration, said the accident involving the Cessna 180 occurred around noon Sunday near Cable Airport. The plane had departed from Camarillo.

According to Gregor, the plane had lost control on landing, went off the side of the runway and hit a fence.

Gregor said the pilot was the only person on board at the time. The plane was said to have been completely destroyed.

No further information was available.
