Arraignment Posted For Man Charged With Murder In 405 Crash
TORRANCE (CBSLA.com) — The arraignment for Yocio Jonathan Gomez, 23, charged with allegedly driving drunk and killing two construction workers, was postponed Thursday to Sept. 10.
The crash happened July 22 around 3:30 a.m. on the 405 Freeway.
Gomez was allegedly driving a blue Ford Explorer that smashed into the back of a black Lexus SUV.
The SUV spun out of control, striking three workers, and overturning on its roof.
Ramon Lopez, 56, and Ricardo Zamora, 58, were killed. A third worker was injured.
All three were employed by a contracting firm under Caltrans supervision.
Gomez is charged with two counts of each second-degree murder, vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, and driving under the influence.
