SHERMAN OAKS (CBS) — The Macy’s department store at a Sherman Oaks mall was burglarized early Tuesday.
An emergency exit alarm went off around 1 a.m., dispatching Los Angeles police officers to the Westfield Fashion Square mall at Riverside Drive and Hazeltine Avenue.
Officers discovered that someone had been in the store, Sgt. Kristine Klotz of the LAPD’s Van Nuys Station said.
They sealed off the premises and were conducting a search with police dogs, she said. Investigators were also reviewing surveillance video, she said.
Some items were discovered missing, she said.
