4.4-Magnitude Quake Hits Near Yorba Linda

YORBA LINDA (CBSLA.com) — A 4.4-magnitude earthquake struck in Orange County Tuesday night and was felt by residents across Los Angeles and San Bernardino counties.

The temblor hit one mile northeast of Yorba Linda at 11:23 p.m., according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

There were no reports of injuries or property damage, the Yorba Linda Fire Department reported.

Randy Baldwin, a geophysicist with the U.S. Geological Survey, told KNX 1070 NEWSRADIO the epicenter is a familiar one.

“There have been a number of quakes in the past, and there was a magnitude-5.4 that occurred in this particular area back in 2008,” said Baldwin.
