PASADENA (CBS) — Fashion expert Joe Katz showed CBS2’s Suzanne Marques how to wear one dress all week in fashionable, different ways.

Katz started by using the perfect sheath at Macy’s Pasadena Plaza on Lake Avenue.

“You have to find something that’s like a basic palate, and a basic sheath dress is perfect for that,” he said.

The first look sported a belt, bolero and a statement necklace.

“I love that this accentuates the waist, this is a cute little shrug, which just crops right here and accentuates all of the accessories,” he said.

Next, Katz used two strong accessories to make the dress stand out.

“I accessorized with a great scarf… did nice little bracelets. I wanted to mix the colors,” he said.

The third look featured a fitted jacket.

“This is more if you’re going to have that power meeting and you really want something cool,” he said.

Katz also gave tips for a plus-sized look.

He paired the dress with long necklaces and a sheer sweater.

“I elongate the body with these accessories, these great necklaces, just to give that long, lean elegant look,” he said.

Katz said the best way to know if a look might work is to test it out.
