LONG BEACH (AP) — The connector road from the southbound 605 Freeway to the southbound 405 Freeway will close for about two weeks starting Monday as crews make improvements.
City News Service reports the connector road in Long Beach will be rebuilt, and a carpool lane will be added.
Motorists will be able to exit the 605 and take surface streets through Long Beach, Rossmoor and Seal Beach to reach the 405, or they can exit at Katella Avenue and take Los Alamitos Boulevard/Seal Beach Boulevard to the southbound 405.
The construction work is part of the $277-million West County Connector project, which will link carpool lanes and ease traffic on the 405, 22 and 605 freeways. The project is scheduled to be completed in 2014.
