SIERRA MADRE (CBSLA.com) — A tree trimmer died Saturday in an industrial accident in the backyard of a home in Sierra Madre.

Arcadia police said in a statement that the victim was hired to do some work on a property in the 1400 block of Orlando Drive.

The accident happened shortly before 11 a.m. Saturday as the man was trimming a palm tree.

The statement said the man became entangled with a power line and subsequently fell. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said they have not released the man’s identity pending notification of next of kin.
