Motorcyclist Leads CHP On High Speed Chase Spanning Several Freeways

CERRITOS (CBS) — Authorities were involved in a high-speed chase with a motorcyclist Tuesday morning that spanned several freeways.

The chase began around 8:30 a.m. when an officer tried to pull the suspect over for speeding and failure to yield on the westbound 91 Freeway near Yorba Linda, the California Highway Patrol said.

The suspect sped through city streets in Norwalk and then onto the 605 and 5 freeways.

Due to the high rates of speed, the suspect was primarily pursued by the air, said officials.

The pursuit ended around 9:20 a.m. on the northbound Golden State (5) Freeway when a motorcycle officer intercepted the suspect when he slowed for traffic.

The man, who was not identified, was arrested.
