Honda Recalls 172K Vehicles Over Potentially Faulty Doors

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Honda is recalling 172,000 vehicles due to potentially faulty doors that may not close properly.

The recall affects both CR-V SUVs from the model year 2012, as well as 2013 Acura ILX vehicles.

"Simultaneous operation of the driver's or passenger's inner door handle and either the manual or power door lock may result in the inner door handle release cable becoming partially disengaged," Honda said in a statement. "When this occurs the door may not latch when closed and/or the door may latch and close, but then open when the door locks are operated; either case may result in the affected door opening unexpectedly."

Honda dealers across the Southland will inspect all affected cars and repair them for free.

There have been no crashes or injuries reported.
