New Details Emerge In Sage Stallone's Death

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — New details have emerged in the death of Sage Stallone suggesting use of pain killers following dental work may have led to an accidental overdose.

The 36-year-old son of actor Sylvester Stallone was found dead inside his Hollywood Hills home last week.

Suraya Fadel, reporting for CBS2 and KCAL9, says that while the autopsy was completed over the weekend, toxicology results are still pending.

A source close to the investigation tells Fadel that dozens of bottles of prescription pain killers were found inside the home.

Stallone's death is not believed to be a suicide. Friends and his attorney have all said he was hopeful, looking forward to getting married and very happy.

His mother told "Entertainment Tonight" that her son recently had five teeth extracted and she warned him that the pain would be unbearable and that he should be careful about the painkillers he was prescribed.

Sources told Fadel many of the pill bottles were empty, some were filled. The pills included Hydrocodone, a generic for Vicodin.

Sylvester Stallone, said to be distraught over his son's loss, has reportedly hired a high-profile private investigator to determine what killed his eldest son.

Fadel says due to the high profile nature of the case, LAPD's Robbery Homicide division has taken over the investigation.
