GARDEN GROVE (CBS) — Authorities arrested a 48-year-old Bible study teacher Thursday who they say molested two girls he met at a Westminster church.
Christopher Guardado of Garden Grove was charged Monday with two felony counts of lewd acts with a minor, according to Deputy District Attorney Eric Scarbrough.
The girls, who are both reportedly younger than 14, told their families last week they were molested in 2010 and last year, Garden Grove police Lt. Jeff Nightengale said.
Guardado was a volunteer teacher of the first and second-grade Bible study classes at Calvary Church Pacific Coast, Nightengale said.
Nightengale said the girls alleged being molested “numerous times over the past two years,” with the most recent incident occuring in June 2011.
Scarbrough said investigators were concerned there were more victims and asked anyone with information to call Detective Aaron Nelson at (714) 741-5800.
Guardado, who was being held on $1 million bail, was scheduled to be arraigned Aug. 3.
