CANYON COUNTRY (CBS) —  A motorcyclist was killed Saturday and another person was injured in a crash in Canyon Country, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The fatal crash was reported at 1:53 p.m. on Soledad Canyon Road just east of the Antelope Valley (14) Freeway, said CHP Officer Christian Cracraft.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene and a second person was taken to a hospital, Cracraft said.

The cause of the solo vehicle crash was unknown.

A stretch of Soledad Canyon Road was closed in both directions while CHP investigated, Cracraft said.
