LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A Southwest Airlines flight from Oakland has landed safely at Los Angeles International Airport after an apparent mechanical problem was reported.
Ian Gregor, a Federal Aviation Administration spokesman, says the Boeing 737 was headed to Ontario on Saturday morning when it declared an emergency “due to a pressurization issue.”
“The plane diverted to LAX and landed without incident at 11:45 a.m.,” he said.
About 70 people were on board Southwest Flight 937 at the time.
The plane had departed from Metropolitan Oakland International Airport.
No further information was immediately available.
