SHERMAN OAKS (CBS) —  A child was critically injured and three adults were hurt in a multi-vehicle crash on the Ventura (101) Freeway in Sherman Oaks, a city fire officials said.

The crash was reported at 2:47 p.m. on the eastbound 101 just west of Haskell Avenue, said Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Multiple vehicles were involved in the crash, including an SUV that overturned, Humphrey said.

It is unclear if all the injured were occupants of the SUV.

One child was critically injured, Humphrey said. Three adults suffered minor injuries.

The cause of the crash was under investigation.

Four eastbound 101 lanes were closed just west of Haskell due to the collision, as a medical helcopter was landed on the freeway.
