CBS2 Gets Sneak Peek Of New 'LEX LUTHOR' Ride At Magic Mountain

VALENCIA (CBS) — A world-record breaking ride at Six Flags Magic Mountain will debut to the public Saturday.

CBS2's Joy Benedict got a sneak preview of "LEX LUTHOR: Drop of Doom" Friday morning, one day ahead of the public.

The ride towers at 400 feet and is attached to both sides of "SUPERMAN: Escape from Krypton Tower". From start to finish, it lasts 99 seconds, according to Tim Burkart, Director of Engineering and Construction at Six Flags Magic Mountain.

LEX LUTHOR "is considered an engineering phenomenon, dropping fearless riders in floorless gondolas at speeds up to 85 miles-per-hour in five seconds," Magic Mountain officials said.

LEX LUTHOR is named after Superman's greatest enemy.
