HUNTINGTON BEACH (CBS) — An Orange County restaurant famous for its half ground beef, half ground bacon burger has gone all the way and created a 100% ground bacon burger.
To celebrate their freedom to serve all things bacon, Slater’s 50/50 Huntington Beach announced via its Facebook page the creation of “The ‘merica” – a 100 % ground bacon burger, topped with a slice of thick cut bacon, a sunny-side up egg, the restaurant’s new “bacon island” dressing and drizzled with bacon cheddar cheese.
The restaurant, famous for its namesake 50/50 burger, says that the 100 percent ground bacon burger actually inspired the concept of Slater’s 50/50 Burgers By Design.
According to a news release from the company, owner Scott Slater and some of his San Diego State University buddies took on the challenge of creating the 100 percent ground bacon burger after a dare at a Charger’s tailgate party.
The burger is a limited time offering and is available at its three locations – Huntington Beach, Anaheim Hills and San Diego – through July 31.
