Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (June 28)

STUDIO CITY (CBS) — A little marine layer has returned to some coastal sections of LA County.

The marine layer will keep things a touch cooler at the beach, however inland temperatures are expected to rise Thursday as that monster ridge of high pressure that's in the heartland drifts to the west.

Look for daytime highs well into the 90s for our valley cities. The high pressure retreats by the weekend with a trough developing along the west coast again. This should help to cool us off a few degrees with daytime highs downtown should be just a little bit below average.

Next week the long range models are hinting at the high pressure nudging back to the west, however this time we could see a little surge of subtropical moisture in our far eastern deserts.

Beaches -low to mid 70s
Basin - low 80s
Valleys - mid 90s
Deserts -mid 90s
Mountains -mid 70s
