SAN DIMAS (CBS) — A bear was reported in a residential yard early Tuesday morning in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains.

The first was first spotted around 1:10 a.m. in the 800 block of San Dimas Canyon Road, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s officials said.

Deputies responded to the scene and chased the bear up a tree. Officials then left after calling in Fish and Game wardens.

The animal was tranquilized by officials just before 7 a.m. and removed it from the scene.

It was unknown if this bear was the same animal that was spotted in the bear around 11 p.m. Monday.
