Animal Activists Say Circus' Zebras, Camels Violate Corona's City Code

CORONA (CBS) — Animal activists don't want the show to go on in Corona, where a small family-run circus awaits the city's decision on whether to shut them down.

The Ramos Bros. Circus has been traveling and performing with zebras, camels, llamas, dogs and ponies all across the state without problems since 1902.

But on Monday, animal rights activists complained to the Corona zoning board, saying the zebras and camels are exotic animals that violate city code.

The camels and zebras are being housed in nearby Perris until the Ramos family finds out if they have to tear down the tent.

If the city decides to shut down the circus, the Ramos Bros. will have to move on to their next stop in Riverside.
