ARCADIA (CBS) — A man was found shot and dying in an unincorporated area of Arcadia Saturday, sheriff’s officials said.
The shooting death was reported just before noon Saturday in the 5200 block of Tyler Avenue, said Deputy Guillermina Saldana of the Sheriff’s Headquarters Bureau.
The victim, whose name was not released, was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, Saldana said.
Witnesses said they heard 4-5 shots.
Police say they are searching for one gunman and a possible accomplice.
A gun was recovered at the scene.
A witness told KCAL9 and CBS2 reporter Edward Lawrence that the shooting followed some type of argument between a group of men.
The witness didn’t want to reveal her identity but said, “I was sleeping. And I heard a pop, pop, pop. There were maybe five shots. The first one made me think maybe it was firecrackers. Then I heard the rest and went ‘Oh my God!’ And I ran to the window and I could see this guy running past with a gun.”
