RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA (CBS) — Authorities say a man tried to grab a 7-year-old boy in an adjoining bathroom stall at a bookstore in Rancho Santa Margarita.
The child was at a Crown bookstore at 22372 El Paseo Wednesday night with his parents and another family member when he went to the bathroom in the rear of the store alone, Orange County Sheriff’s spokesman Jim Amormino said.
In the bathroom, a man tried to grab him by reaching underneath from the next stall.
“The boy came running out with a terrified look on his face, traumatized,” Amormino said. “While telling his parents what happened, another family member saw someone matching the description (of the suspect) leaving the store in a hurry.”
The suspect was described as a black man in his 50s, 5-foot-8 to 6 feet tall, weighing about 180 pounds, with short black hair and a mustache. The suspect wore a blue and white shirt and dark pants.
