ONTARIO (CBS) — The case of a former Westminster Police detective who says an anti-depressant made him kidnap and rape a woman is now in the hands of a jury.
Anthony Orban says he was under the influence of Zoloft at the time of the attack in April 2010. Prosecutors say Orban took a woman captive at gunpoint at the Ontario Mills Mall and sexually assaulted her in her SUV.
Orban’s attorney says his client was unaware of the assault because of his medication.
Prosecutors say the attack happened after Orban spent a day drinking at the mall and that he knew what he was doing.
