SYLMAR (CBS) — Two children and a developmentally disabled woman were found safe in Sylmar Monday after disappearing over the weekend.
KNX 1070′s Jon Baird reports the trio were found at a Metro station after they were spotted on a train platform in Long Beach two days earlier.
An alert issued Saturday by the Long Beach Police Department said the children, 8-year-old Sarah White and 6-year-old Nicholas Sanders, left an apartment on Santa Fe Avenue and Spring Street at 4:45 p.m. Saturday.
They had received permission to go to a fast food restaurant with 25-year-old Marie Williams.
Police said the trio arrived at an eatery by about 6 p.m., but were turned away because it was closing.
“She kinda tried to force an order but I told her I was closed and I couldn’t cook anymore. So she just left and took the bus going down,” store employee Nisit Sang said.
The three, who are not related, were in LAPD custody.
