New, Bigger Boiling Crab in Costa Mesa

Here is the moment that many hungry Orange County foodies have been anxiously waiting for… The Boiling Crab Costa Mesa, just down the street from South Coast Plaza, is finally open! Monday, June 4, 2012 was their soft opening. This Friday, June 8, 2012 is their official grand opening. Get ready to roll up your sleeves and put on your bibs. It is time to get messy and eat some finger-licking good crawfish, shrimp, crab legs and more.

Featured in multiple magazines, newspapers, blogs and TV shows such as The Food Network's "The Best Thing I Ever Ate," Boiling Crab locations are notorious for their long lines of hungry restaurant-goers eager to get their hands messy devouring finger-licking good seafood. Even celebrities have been sighted waiting at the Koreatown Boiling Crab location. Despite the wait, people still line up to enjoy crawfish, shrimp, king crab legs and more, all shaken in a plastic bag filled with their famous "Whole Sha-bang" Sauce; bursting with spices, flavors, garlic, and several other secret ingredients. What started out as a small family owned restaurant in Orange County, has boomed into 13 locations all over California, Nevada and Texas.

The newest location to be added to the Boiling Crab family is in Costa Mesa, CA, a few minutes away from the popular high-end mall, South Coast Plaza. This restaurant is the largest one to date and features a large group dining area for up to 36 guests (the very first Boiling Crab to have this), waiting area, Boiling Crab To-Go Counter, a capacity of 289 people and 60 flat screen televisions. Like all Boiling Crab restaurants, they serve beer by the bottle and you can bring in your own wine if you wish for a $10 corkage fee.

There is a 15th Boiling Crab location in the works in Mira Mesa, CA. This will be the very first Boiling Crab in San Diego County. The Boiling Crab Management Team says that they are still "learning and growing but the sky's the limit."
