POMONA (CBS) — An investigation was under way in Pomona following a triple shooting that claimed two lives and left a third person critically wounded.

The incident occurred just before 11 p.m. Saturday in the 700 block of East Columbia Avenue. Detectives say they received a call that someone had been shot and found the bodies of two men upon arrival.

A short distance away, they found a third victim. He was airlifted to the hospital and is in guarded condition.

At this time, detectives say it’s unclear what sparked the violence and are not commenting on a possible motive.

Grieving loved ones identified the victims as a father, son and family friend.

They told Kara Finnstrom, reporting for CBS2 and KCAL9, that the son and the family friend were both killed.

Anyone with more information on this case is urged to call authorities at (909) 620-2095.
