LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Police Tuesday were investigating the circumstances surrounding a triple shooting at a baseball diamond in a public park in the mid-Wilshire area.
The violence unfolded about 7 p.m. at the Queen Anne Recreation Center on West Pico Boulevard.
Suraya Fadel, reporting for CBS2 and KCAL9, spoke with 10-year-old Daniel Santos who couldn’t hold back his emotions as he recounted the shooting.
He says parents and children started to run and were screaming and crying.
Many reportedly feared for their lives minutes after the shooting.
Police believe the incident was gang-related.
Fadel is told one man started running after another, firing several rounds. The park and local recreation center were packed with children and families at the time.
They were there for a little league game.
Two men and one woman were shot. They were transported to area hospitals for treatment. Their current conditions were not immediately known.
No arrests have been made.
