HESPERIA (CBS) — Animal control officers were called to an Inland Empire neighborhood after a 200-pound bear was spotted wandering the streets, authorities reported.
Residents told officers that the male bear had been perusing the Hesperia neighborhood since the morning Wednesday. No injuries or property damage was reported.
Animal control officers tranquilized the bear and sheriff’s deputies carried him to a Fish And Game Department vehicle.
The animal was taken to Fawnskin where he will be relocated in the mountains near Big Bear.
