4 Arrested In Parking Lot Beating At Dodger Stadium

ELYSIAN PARK (CBS) — A man is recovering Monday morning after a fight in the parking lot of Dodger Stadium.

The fight began around 9 p.m. Sunday after a minor traffic accident occurred between two cars that were exiting the park following the Dodger's victory over the St. Louis Cardinals, Los Angeles police said.

Both drivers reportedly got out of their vehicles, exchanged words and a fight began, officials said.

According to police, Arthur Morales, 30, knocked the victim to the ground. At that point, another car with friends of Morales' pulled up and got out of the car.

"They held the victim down on the ground and  . . .  the fourth one kicked and punched him in the head," Commander Andy Smith said.

Off-duty LAPD officers working as security at the game arrested Morales, Alan Trujillo, 29, Ulisis Briceno, 26, and 29-year-old Alejandro Briceno, said Smith. They were booked at the Metropolitan Jail.

The male victim was transported to County USC hospital with contusions and scratches to the face and head, according to officials.

An eight-month pregnant female passenger in the beating victim's car was also taken to the hospital as a precaution. Both the woman and the victim were released from County USC.

The four suspects are expected to be charged with assault with a deadly weapon and are being held on $30,000 bail, Smith said.

On opening day 2011, Giants fan Bryan Stow was brutally attacked by two men in the parking lot of Dodger Stadium following the game. He was wearing a San Francisco jersey when he was punched in the head, kicked and slammed to the ground in the parking lot. Stow, a paramedic from Santa Cruz, suffered severe brain damage and continues to undergo rehabilitation.

Two men have pleaded not guilty to charges of mayhem, assault and battery.
