STUDIO CITY (CBS) — The marine layer running a little thicker than Friday morning. In fact, it has been able to penetrate all the way inland to the Santa Clarita Valley.

Look for a slower burn-off today, which means temperatures will be a touch cooler than yesterday.

There are some beach communities that may be stuck in the clouds for most of the day. A ridge of high pressure builds over the weekend, so look for warming conditions on Saturday, Sunday and even Monday.

The ridge peaks on Sunday, so look for a warm day inland. We will still have a marine layer all weekend, but it should get squashed down to the beach.

Next week, a trough moves into the West Coast and we will experience some cooling.

Beaches -mid 60s
Basin – low 70s
Valleys – mid 70s
Deserts -upper 80s
Mountains – upper 60s
