LOS ANGELES (CBS) — The countdown to summer is here and a new workout is sure to get you ready to slip into that swimsuit.
The Pound Workout can help drum away up to 800 calories an hour.
The total body workout uses the best of yoga, Pilates and cardio to achieve maximum fat-burning results.
The 45-minute workout was created by amateur drummers Kirsten Potenza and Cristina Pereenboom.
“We were sitting over our drum set one day without a seat and we felt how the repetition of our arms hitting the drums was off-setting our body — and that was sort of a light bulb moment,” Potenza said.
Participants use drumsticks to beat at the air and floor as they squat, jump and sweat their way to a trimmer body.
