13-Year-Old Boy Shot, Critically Wounded In Pacoima

PACOIMA (CBS) —  Police are investigating the shooting of a 13-year-old boy Thursday.

Officers went to the 10000 block of Telfair Avenue about 8 a.m. in Pacoima, according to an officer at the Los Angeles Police Department’s Foothill Station.

LAPD spokesman Officer Chris Lata said detectives ruled out attempted suicide as a factor in the case, and were trying to determine if the shooting was accidental or if a suspect was at large.

The juvenile was hospitalized in critical condition, Lata said, adding that a person was detained but released after being questioned.
