(CBS) – Despite strong objections by Major League Baseball, Judge Kevin Gross has approved the sale of the Dodgers  to Guggenheim Baseball Management, a group that includes former Los Angeles Lakers star Magic Johnson.

MLB had objected to the  structure of  Guggenheim Management and the role Frank McCourt has with the land surrounding Dodger Stadium.

The deal is set to close by April 30th.
