Here are some ideas to prevent storm drain pollution.
• Don't put anything in storm drains but rainwater.
• Avoid throwing litter into the street. Use a car litter bag in your vehicle and a trash
can to dispose of trash.
• Pick up after your pet.
• Recycle used motor oil and oil filters.
• Recycle beverage containers.
• Select household cleaning products that are environmentally friendly.
• Report illegal dumping. Call 1(888) CLEAN LA.
• Participate in a Household Hazardous Waste/Electronic Waste event to properly dispose of toxic chemicals and unwanted electronics from your home.
• Do not apply pesticides or fertilizers to your lawn before it rains.
• Bag, compost or recycle your grass and yard clippings.
