18 Men Arrested In Sex Sting At Manhattan Beach Public Restroom

MANHATTAN BEACH (CBS) — Several undercover stings involving public beach restrooms have ended in the arrest of 18 men for unlawful sexual activities.

Los Angeles County Lifeguards alerted Manhattan Beach police to unusual activity taking place at a public bathroom located at Marine Avenue at The Beach, authorities said.

“The same men were frequently using and returning to the location, and men were loitering in the area as well as inside the restroom for long periods of time,” Stephanie Martin of MBPD said.

Lifeguards and maintenance staff also found graffiti that depicted “graphic sexual images as well as holes that were drilled in the partitions of the bathroom stalls,” Martin said.

Manhattan Beach detectives began monitoring websites and chat rooms where discussions about the “Marine Bathroom” were taking place and determined the restroom was being used as a meeting place for sexual activity, police said.

Detectives then set up a series of sting operations using surveillance of the location and information gathered from online outlets to arrest 18 suspects.

The men, aged  21 to 59-years-old, were arrested on a range of charges including soliciting and engaging in lewd conduct in a public place, loitering, utilizing a peephole in a restroom, invasion of privacy and indecent exposure.

All 18 suspects have been released from police custody pending a court date or further investigation, officials said.

I hope they will all be required to register as sex offenders (I they aren’t already registered)

    1. David von Ah says:

Sex offenders are people who have committed offenses against someone rather than with someone. Let’s reserve sex offender registration for those who are actually a danger to society. No, these guys should get sentenced to stand outside that restroom with a sign that says, “I’m sorry, I broke the law because I was too stupid to know the difference between a restroom and a bar.”

      1. Ted says:

        Exactly.

      2. RJ says:

Correct, David. A sex offender registry is typically reserved for level 1, 2, or 3 registered sex offenders.

They will be tried and, if found guilty, most likely receive a short-term level 0 sex offender status, meaning they will not need to report into the state sex offender registry.

      3. jakeinlove says:

LOL. As if they won’t bust you at a bar in their next sting – even if it is a gay one.

      4. GDOGNCBD says:

it should say a public restroom and a private room where i cant be set -up for being so careless and selfiish to try this in public.public restrooms are for us to have when we visit places and we need to have some where to go w/o being rude and doing it on side of someones property or car door.

    2. Wyle E Coyote says:

How long has your mother been on the sex offenders list?

      1. Roadrunner says:

        not as long as you!

        beep! beep!

    3. Maria Schneider says:

Oh please. If it were naked girls or heterosexual sex there would be no posting. Ever been to surf fest? way more dangerous! These men should never have had their pictures posted or should be registered as a sex offenders.

    4. GROWAPAIR says:

I am so disappointed I missed out on this party. My glory hole is always open for the right man.

  2. rlb.1369 says:

Is nothing sacred, not even the bathrooms at the beach, Oh my God what is next The Bathrood at City HALL!

  3. Tray Chubin says:

Shame on you for printing their pictures. You have no decency.

    1. cage says:

      >>>Shame on you for printing their pictures. You have no decency.

      1. craig says:

Agreed. Shame for posting the pictures. I wonder how many “sex in public” arrests the Manhatton beach police have made in the last year involving adult hetero sexuals? I’m guessing, zero.

      2. Christina39 says:

I am wondering how much heterosexual “sex in public” was DONE by the police.

      3. The Mad Man says:

        Neither did they!

    2. cage says:

      >>>Shame on you for printing their pictures. You have no decency.

And shame on your for having a wacked out moral compass.

      1. Ted says:

There’s nothing immoral about having sex in public. It is illegal because of people like you who are terrified of nakedness or gayness or anything out of the ordinary. No one can claim to have been hurt by these acts except for people who have been arrested and defamed.

      2. cage says:

        >>>>There’s nothing immoral about having sex in public. It is illegal because of people like you who are terrified of nakedness or gayness or anything out of the ordinary. No one can claim to have been hurt by these acts except for people who have been arrested and defamed.

No one’s terrified by nakedness or gayness. Just disgusted by the latter. Pretty much the same way I’m disgusted by the molestations of students by LAUSD teachers….. Sex in public is one thing – sex by sticking your willy thru a glory hole in a fly-festering beach bathroom is twisted. It’s not fun, or funny.

    3. Ted says:

Were these men molesting any children? No. There is not a single reason why anyone needs to know who these men are. Posting these men’s faces and names for committing a misdemeanor offense that has NO VICTIM is disgusting. And your defense of posting them is both inane and immoral.

    4. Christina39 says:

To the men whose pictures were posted. Look up ALM and get a good attorney if he reposts the pictures. That is defamation and libel. Track him down.

    5. bob says:

Too bad Christina, those pictures are public. A lawyer would laugh at an idiot like you

    6. bob says:

@ Ted – How do you know there was no victim? Anyone trying to use that bathroom was a victim. Blood and fecal matter splattered all over the toilets and floors are hazardous. All they had to do was get a motel room or use their own beds.

    7. GDOGNCBD says:

exactly, they were foolish enought o try and do this where people not interested will be also trying to just have a little privacy and get their bussiness over.have you ever by chance been to a restroom where ony stall open had a gaping hole in it and you need to drop a #2 immediately, but theres a set of eyes peering from the other side.uncomfrrtable and very irriitating, will usally get a trash can contents dumped oer their door when i leave.

  4. Sebastian says:

Finally, the bathrooms in Manhattan beach are now safe to use.

    1. ze forte says:

      until the cops leave.

  6. juztees says:

They all look like pig’s. Ugly reject’s. I hope they are all registered as sex offender’s and banned from ever walking a public park, or beach.

    1. ze forte says:

hey I resemble that remark. the only difficult part is I’d have problems going incognito in the women’s restroom…

    2. juztees is a prude says:

I can’t even get a job. That’s because that aS$hole lawyer Robert Hale from Hale and Nguyen in Brea couldn’t help me with my case. I’m a chickensh!t aS$puck that has a beef with law enforcement and everybody on the internet. I used multiple screen names like [GROW..APAIR], [wg//af], [up//yours], [Mike in San Diego], [Mike in Upland], [1stman] and [kma] so no one can track me down. I challenge people to meet me in front of the Fullerton P.D. station for my protection. I’m such a puS$y dumbf**k with nothing to say I post to myself copying sentences from everyone, especially GROWAPAIR, who knows I’m a ball sniffing loser…
I’ll use your screen name next, puS$y d!cklips.
Pay attention to me when I hijack screen names to show I’m a whiny puS$y dumbf**k loser. It makes my ass pucker with joy when people think I’m GROWAPAIR and my daddy’s balls like it when my ass puckers. Tell me how I can sound any more f**king stupid.

  7. Joel91201@yahoo.com says:

What A shame Good job to law enforcement.. Chaces are most of these guys have already been in trouble for something similar.

  8. Really? says:

I wonder how many are married. So many down low men and this is the type of place they meet at.

  9. Reason says:

Are you all upset cause they are perhaps gay, or because they had sex in a public place. So NONE of you ever had sex in cognito in a public place?

Sheesh when I was around 19 my girl and I were trying to get away with a little sex in all sorts of places.

    Many people do this.

Your lives must all be pretty boring and stale.

Im sorry you are all married with partners that have made you forget what good adventurous sex is.

Or you are all just upset cause this was “GAY” sex.

Im not gay myself – but it seems to me many people at some point in their lives has sex outside a bedroom.

    1. Reason says:

      blah blah sorry for typos.

    2. bounce says:

Did you even read what they are being charged with?

    3. cage says:

<So NONE of you ever had sex in cognito in a public place?

Not in a beach bathroom that looks like something out of “Saw.” Get real.

      >>>Sheesh when I was around 19 my girl and I were trying to get away with a little sex in all sorts of places.

If your above statement is any indication of your hygienic preferences, the Black Hole of Calcutta probably would seem like the Ritz to you.

      >>Many people do this.

And they should be smoted, locked up and prosecuted.

      >>>Im sorry you are all married with partners that have made you forget what good adventurous sex is.

Me too. Better than being out in your swingin’ Funhouse World, chum.

      >>>but it seems to me many people at some point in their lives has sex outside a bedroom.

Don’t you think that this represents the far side of that slide rule.

      Grow up, child

  10. Tom says:

I agree with Reason. Why the hell would they need to register as sex offenders for willingly having sex with someone over the legal age? That would mean that 90 of people in the world would be a sex offender.

    1. David S says:

Why use more advanced primates like Chimpanzees for medical research when we have such low end, evolutionary challenged, knuckle dragging primates like ‘Daman’ to use instead!

  11. Todd D. says:

Nice try Tom. First of all, It is a deviant act. Second, it is in a public place that is accessed by children. Third, it is sign of a huge disrespect for any and all law abiding citizens that believe there is a time and place for things. See Tom, you are what’s wrong with society. Accept anything and embrace every act as long as it doesn’t hurt anyone else. Sick, Tom, Sick!!

    1. Sandy S. says:

Todd, on point. Crazy society when people could justify anything goes, of course as long as it is between consenting adults. I bet half these degenerates will take it home to their unsuspecting wives.

      1. Todd D. says:

Thank you Sandy. The day has truly come when the voice of the people shall call good evil and evil good.

      2. Reason says:

haha you people are hilarious. Deviant? please define deviant. Todd – are YOU the authority on what is considered deviant? And do you not ever speed or cross a street out of a crosswalk? Cause if you did you would be disrespecting the law abiding citizens I guess.
And who said anything about “accept anything”? Jesus you people sound like you are living in 1954.

I would bet that MOST of my close friends have had sex in public places in their lives – and if you met me on the street I guarantee “degenerate” is not the word you would first use.

Maybe someday you people will come off your high clouds of morality and find you weren’t really living in the real world for most of your lives.

I got news for you – humans were having sex “where children could be” for thousands of years. Somehow humanity survived.

    2. Christina39 says:

Accept anything and embrace every act as long as it doesn’t hurt anyone else. Sick, Tom, Sick!!

wouldn’t it be a nice world if the above were actually followed by everybody including politicians.. Nice, Tom, Nice! We can only dream.

    3. Carlo says:

Call me crazy, but it seems like setting the bar this low for what you believe should be considered EVIL…well, THAT’S sick. I mean, I look at a picture of Hitler or Stalin, people who committed mass genocides, and I have no problems labeling them evil. Attaching EVIL to the pictures of these men is outright laughable. But that’s what you’re dong by bringing the concept of EVIL into this conversation.

  12. ILLEGALS says:

The cops should’ve lock ’em up in jail until they all lost their jobs & become real lowlifes..

    Creepy Freaks..

  13. TonyLongBeach says:

Relax, people. Reason and Tray’s comments make sense. Just how many of you guys tried to get some tail in the back seat of a car or behind the school auditorium on prom night? If kids or anyone else were headed your way, would you continue or do it in front of them? Likely you’d have stopped–do you really think these guys would keep it up (no pun intended) if they heard someone coming? If you were caught doing the nasty in the car, would we all really be better off if you got caught and had to register as a sex offender or something? Doubt it. I have a feeling some of you resent these men because they’re doing something you’re not: Getting action.

Bringing it home to their wives? I’m not justifying infidelity, but just so you women know, guys have needs, and one of them is a BJ now and then. Stop being as cold as a freezer and give your husbands and boyfriends a BJ once in a while (and yes, guys, it does work both ways). They’re so frustrated, that’s why they go looking for it in a restroom or an adult book store.

Oh, and I agree: What is the point of publishing the photographs? These guys are not a danger to anyone. They were doing it with people of legal age, and consenting. If they were not gay or bi, but straight, I doubt you’d be so upset. As if you aren’t one of the many that has gotten in a quickie with your girlfriend in a nightclub’s restroom…. Putting the photographs in is simply part of trash journalism. Bad enough the media thinks what Kim Kardashian is up to or that Lindsay Lohan is back in court is more important than things like our economy or our boys and girls getting killed overseas in wars; now I guess restroom antics will make juicy headlines (“We have the exclusive coming up at 6….”), until something better comes along, like another OJ-like trial or something.

Well, hey, Manhattan Beach must be a safe place if the priority of the cops is patrolling restrooms. More like it offers another opportunity to make more arrests, so they can justify more money for more cops and more jails to be built, every time government cutbacks come up.

    1. Gregg Sebold says:

@TonyLongBeach: So the reason men seek men for “BJs in adult bookstores” is because their wives didnt put out? Did you skip science class or are you just deeply closetted. If you are interracting sexually with a man, you are gay. Accept it.

And on behalf of all other rational gay men let me just say that glad they were arrested and shamed. They are the reason why people think I am a sex crazed animal who shouldnt be allowed to marry or adopt. REASON, theres nothing REASONable about what you are saying.

      1. RJ says:

I agree, Gregg. While many of us, gay or straight, are guilty of sneaking a little sex in a semi-public space, these men were repeatedly using the same location: a public restroom.

We’re not talking about a couple hooking up in the back seat of their car on a dead end street at 2AM. We’re not talking about young adults who sneak off the trail while hiking in the middle of the woods (where privacy is pretty much guaranteed).

We’re talking about grown men making fools of themselves because they don’t do something as simple as being discrete and respectful of others.

I don’t care whether it was a bunch of men and women, a bunch of women, or a bunch of men. They repeatedly misused a public space and most likely turned it into a place where others didn’t feel safe, secure, or clean.

They want outdoor sex? Earn some money, buy a house with a backyard and put up some high fences.

  14. Reason says:

VERY WELL SAID – TonyLongBeach – much better than I could have said it.

When the commenters here have nothing better to worry about than getting their panties in a bunch over what humans have ALL been doing since the beginning of humans – having sex (GASP!!!!) they must all have it pretty good in their lives.

The photos should have NEVER been posted here. Sex offender registration for someone having consensual sex with another adult – hidden in a public place? Do you people REALIZE how many people do this?

I truly feel sorry for you people who are so bothered by this. Your sex life must be pretty frustrating to be so jealous.😉

    1. Christina39 says:

They protect the photos of prostitutes and their johns Never releasing names but accuse the gays of bringing home diseases to their wives, what wives? It’s more likely the john brings home a disease to his wife or girlfriend and I know of this happening quite frequently, particularly herpes, but it is laughingly referred to as “even in the bible” and the oldest profession in the world and a necessary evil. But you will never see their pictures so that they can’t get gainful employment or will lose their jobs.I find having sex in a public restroom disgusiting, but i also find giving a quick BJ in the car around the corner for $20 disgusting. I am sure all the female protitutes are very discriminating LOL

    2. michael says:

You want me to believe that hocking up with a total stranger in a public rest room is just another type of normal?

      1. Christina39 says:

No it’s disgusting. It truly is, because men will be men. BUT YOU KNOW THAT IF THERE WERE WOMEN IN THAT RESTROOM WILLING TO DO THAT, THE PLACE WOULD STANDING ROOM ALONE AND HAVE A LONG LINE OF MEN WAITING TO GET IN. It’s women who control the moral standard.

  15. Reason says:

For all you outwardly prudish people complaining here about how wrong this is and such…claiming that you all have such pure moral lives…

Utah has the highest subscription rates of internet porn of any state in the country.

    enough said.

    1. Christina39 says:

Yes but that is for child porn and their pictures are NEVER EVER released, but cops hate gays so we get a picture gallery. Wish they would show a murderer or rapist sometime.

    2. B says:

Nope. I have a very satisfying sex life in which the only boundaries I place on myself is that 1) it must feel right for both of us and 2) IT MUST NOT VIOLATE THE RIGHTS OF OTHERS.

You also need to quite throwing the Gay Victim card. This was a massively usual arrest, its news worthy. I recall the pics of a hetero couple who had been caught at it in the UAE being published too. Why? It was an unusual arrest and therefore newsworthy.

  16. Dane says:

I don’t believe that having sex in public qualifies one as a “sex offender”. If it did it would dilute the meaning of that term in such a way to make it useless. I can understand that you probably don’t want to walk into a restroom and be greeted by people having sex – but to use taxpayer money to set up a sting? That tells me this was all a setup to entrap people – which frankly is ridiculous. In this time of tight budgets it appears that the MB PD has extra funds. If I were on the city council I would either lower taxes or transfer some of that money to education, parks or something else. Must be nice to have so much extra funding you can afford to spend it on setting up sting operations between consenting adults.

  17. Joe Dionne says:

What’s wrong with you people> Don’t you know we are supposed to be tolerant of the gay lifestyle. Remember they were born this way it’s not their choice. I’m surprised they aren’t asking the ACLU for legal help to protect them from the persecution they are suffering. They deserve to marry one another and live their lives like any other citizen.

  18. Steve says:

I think everyone here has made good points, but the bottom-line here is that the beach is for public use. The beach also has laws, rules and regulations. It doesn’t matter what your personal opinion is. If you walk your dog or drink booze on the beach, you will get fined. Those are called misdemeanors. I am not a lawyer, but I take it exposing private parts and partaking in a lewd sex act in a public restroom (anywhere) is probably a felony. Manhattan Beach is an upscale city, that’s a reality. So neighborhood pressures to keep the beaches clean, safe and criminal free is probably a priority in that city. Some of you comparing your personal preferences or your own moral compass, means nothing when it comes to the law. Posting the pictures of these men, may or may not be a judgement call by the media or if its public record. At the end of the day, I will be much happier that our beaches our being protected as best as they can. The public has that right and the authorities should make it so.

    1. The Mad Man says:

Amen! Well put! Facts are facts!

  19. Alex Blaze says:

Why did CBS print these people’s photos? Does CBS know if they’re out to their employers and their families? Is CBS sure that the news value of printing the pictures of a group of not-famous people outweighs the potential harm to their privacy?

Seriously, it’s like we’re still stuck in the 50’s.

    1. Rush says:

don’t get caught having sex in a public restroom & you will be o.k.

50’s moral restraint >>>>> moral filth of 2012

the lack of moral restraint is the single biggest contributor to the downfall of this country.

      1. Alex Blaze says:

I think I’d have more to say in reply if it were clear that you had read the post. But thanks for stopping by.

  20. freedom72 says:

Reading this article and some of the holier-than-thou comments feels like a time warp. Are we living in 2012 or 1962?
I mean, I’m not defending the actions of these men but to publish their photos and full names as if they were dangerous criminals who have committed a felony is truly trash journalism on the part of CBS Los Angeles.

  21. RJ says:

I will agree with the others. These men should be tried and found guilty of whatever charges they were arrested under.

CBS, however, should NOT publish their faces, names, birthdates, and town of residence. Please, CBS, take this picture down.

  22. Christina39 says:

I don’t know about anybody else, but knowing the police are rounding up dangerous criminals really makes me feel safer in Los Angeles now. Now that there are going after the really heavy criminals shows the pig’s bravery I always suspected was there. But maybe this is good, at least they are not shooting innocent people pulling invisible guns out of their waistband. Don’t forget there was a false call to 911. So does anybody REMEMBER the pigs saw the guy reach for a gun in his waistband. WHAT GUN???? it was a false report, put two and two together.

    1. GROWAPAIR says:

Christina39, note my use of quotation marks do you know what they signify, pu$$y dumbf**k? I doubt it. Okay, you’ve more than confirmed d!ckbrain pu$$y dumbf**k, crawl back on your daddy.

  23. Tu Madre says:

Sexual shame and stigma in our society goes unchallenged in cases like these. My biggest concern is all the resources and time WASTED hunting down these non-violent “criminals” by a bunch of bored, lazy cops who should be out there stopping real crime.

    SHAME ON CBS.

They didnt hurt anybody, they are not a “threat” or “danger” to society. Maybe just a threat to your sanctimonious, hetero-normative, sexually repressed “morality”. Nobody was even exposed to it, it was cops with too much time on their hands.. pathetic.

    1. Christina39 says:

They are also not a threat to cops. They don’t have real guns. A good excuse to do nothing toward solving crime. Get out there and get the gang bangers, but no that would be too scary.

    2. Part of Gay Culture says:

And mind you “tu madre”, chusma, I’m not religious one bit so this comes from not a high morality place.

    3. Ratt says:

      You’re a heterophobe … admit it.

  24. Part of Gay Culture says:

It is. So if you support whats going on such as in Mis Universe and think …its “okay”, then you have to accept this debauchery just as well.

    1. Christina39 says:

Not True. They didn’t enter the MISS Canada contest and didn’t get $100,000 and nobody thinks they are female, just gay.

  25. David S says:

loitering? perhaps spending too much time on the can when constipated?

indecent exposure?perhaps actually unzipping your fly at a urinal?

sounds like the manhattan beach pd doesn’t have enough to do with their time? 2 weeks ago my car was stolen off of PCH 2 blocks from Artesia. The cops wouldn’t even come out and take a report. They told me to drive to (hello? my car has been stolen!!!) 15th street near the beach before they’d even take a report. The operator tells me they won’t even take my car’s license # over the phone. I remind them that the car could be in Mexico before they would put the stolen license plate out to their cop cars. They couldn’thave cared less!!

Maybe they should spend a little less time hanging out in restrooms and a little more time solving REAL crime. Oh but I guess it’s just easier arresting a bunch of gay men than looking for car thieves……

    1. Christina39 says:

You should really consider writing comedy. THAT WAS FUNNY! Well not about your car, but your post. No worries I had a gang member with a gun in our backyard and they wouldn’t show. In real life, it’s not “Criminal Minds”

  26. anthony says:

It’s fine to arrest them but is it necessary to post pictures? Ridiculous! This isn’t Iran or the Taliban society we live in

    1. Christina39 says:

Now thanks to the photos and info and the fact that they will lose their jobs and not find new ones in this economy, they can become REAL criminals out of necessity.

    2. Todd D. says:

Anthony, Anthony, Anthony. I have read a lot of these posts and responses and your response has to be the dumbest that I have seen so far. These 18 deviants should thank the Lord above that this is not Iran or the Taliban. Here’s a question for you Anthony……..If this was Iran or the Taliban, do you think any of these freaks would still be alive? You are complaining that CBS posted their photographs? Shut up Anthony.

      1. Bill says:

        Todd, Todd, Todd.

I have read your comment and can’t believe what an absolute moron you are.
Dozens of people are arrested everyday in Los Angeles County for soliciting prostitutes, prostitution, etc. Why hasn’t CBS posted photos of this type of arrest in the past?

Yes, what they were doing is illegal but plastering their photos all over the internet is reckless and irresponsible.

        Shut up Todd.

    3. Ratt says:

Hey, if they were so nervous about being seen in public with their pants around their ankles …. they should have chosen a more private/secluded spot. But that’s no fun for these freaks … they want to be seen by many, it turns them on.

Good, post their pictures far and wide. Nothing works better to change bad behavior than gratuitous public shame

  27. David W says:

CBS Los Angeles I have a question. Why is CBS deliberately persecuting and humiliating gay men by intentionally showing their mugshot and name of those arrested but DO NOT provide similar information in your stories below (Just a few examples) when it is about straight men arrested in a sex sting?

Registered Offender Pleads Guilty After Getting Snared In Underage Sex Sting with several other men.
11 Men Arrested In Riverside Sex Sting
34 Arrested In Prostitution Sting in the San Fernando Valley
16 Men Arrested In Castaic Prostitution Sting

Just to make sure everyone is clear that I’m not defending what anyone has done or is accused of. That’s not the point. Why the different treatment?

    1. TODD D. says:

David W……”The smoking gun” website does the same thing. They post the mug shots and names of deviants like these also. Why aren’t you mentioning them. Either way, it doesn’t matter. Listen people…..Yes, we have the freedom of choice in this country. The freedom to make the right or wrong choice. What we don’t have the freedom to do is choose the consequences that occur from our choices. The 18 made a choice and now that choice is carrying out it’s own justice.

  28. Jerome McCollom says:

I have a problem with the loitering charges, after all, it is a public park.

  29. Joe says:

In the summer of 1962, the Mansfield, Ohio Police Department photographed men having sex in a public restroom under the main square of the city. A cameraman hid in a closet and watched the clandestine activities through a two-way mirror. He filmed over a three week period, and the resulting movie was used to obtain the convictions of over 30 local men on charges of sodomy. With some of this footage the Mansfield Police later produced Camera Surveillance, an instructional film circulated in law enforcement circles. It showed how to set up a sting operation to film and arrest “sex deviants.” William E. Jones found a degraded version of the film on the internet, then reedited the footage to make Mansfield 1962, a haunting, silent condensation of the original.

    It’s Mansfield 1962 all over.

I met the love of my life in a restroom.

Not such a great place to meet, I realize, but… us f*gg*ts might not have to resort to such tawdriness, if the rest of you would just lay off us and let us me in “real life” like y’all do.

Anyways, I no longer live in the fascist USofA – moved somewhere with lots of sexs and fun and beaches.

Enjoy wasting your tax dollars on chasing down lonely men in restrooms, you losers.

    1. Wyle E Coyote says:

stop putting the sorted details of our torrid love affair on the web. That urinal sex we had was probably the most joyful 3 mins of my life. And I don’t think the whole world needs to hear about it.

    2. Todd D. says:

Good riddens!! I am glad you acted upon your screen name and got the heck “Outahere!!”

  31. OutaHere says:

    typos: “me” => “meet”
    “sexs” => “sex”
been typing to long on this thing

  32. steve says:

This was a pathetic attempt at ratings. U guys should be ashamed. I have yet to see the same coverage for “straights” arrested for the same issue. This double standard is offensive. News should be more than tabloid coverage, hair, make up and “news actresses”. A new low by CBS.

  33. Joe says:

Shame on you for posting these pictures.

    1. The Mad Man says:

Shame on them for getting caught!

  34. jcartwright says:

The pictures and names are PUBLIC RECORD and can be found on the MBPD website. CBSLA.com provided a link to it. If you think the public has no right to know, work to get the laws changed. They don’t let the public know things like this in places like Cuba, China and Russia, nor do the have a thing called the 1st Amendment.

  35. Jake Ryan says:

Why weren’t the photos of these men posted like the men in this story? http://losangeles.cbslocal.com/2011/02/18/11-men-arrested-in-riverside-sex-sting/
    Oh. That’s right. They’re straight.

  36. phil says:

Despicable action by KCBS-KCAL News. When do they post pictures of men arrested for prostitution? This is selective because they are gay and it appears to e salacious. Shame on these two stations for listing the pictures of these men. It would have sufficed to say that men were arrested for this. These are victimless crimes, and lives anc careers could be ruined for this. People who comimit greater crimes get away with much more.

    1. job well done says:

victimless? the people that use those restrooms would disagree with you on that. it’s quite disgusting actually. people don’t want to use a toilet that’s frequented for sex.

you hate shaming only because you know it works to curb this type of behavior. if these men had used a non-public place for their hookups there would be no crime and subsequently no mugshots.

kudos to the police and KCAL/KCBS.

  37. Alex W says:

This was a fun read, but it reminds me of how the public and private moralities of USA thinking often comes together nicely packaged thing called “news”. You love sex scandals! No matter who it is.. a group up men (probably most of which have wives) or a politician. Everyone is to be NAMED and SHAMED. It is so funny and sad at the same time. Sex offenders someone wrote? Are you mad? They met up to have consensual contact – there was no one under the age of 18 in there. I am sure that all parents go with their children to the toilet nowadays.

    1. beach visitor says:

they didn’t meet up at a motel, they met at a public restroom. one frequented by lots of children.

no parent is going to send 13 year old Billy to the public restroom if there are grown men having sex in and loitering around public men’s bathrooms looking for anonymous sex with other males.

      is that not common sense?

      use your head dear boy.

  38. The Mad Man says:

These men took the chance of breaking the law. Lewd conduct to say the least. I am glad their pictures were posted. It is the least we can do to let these men know we don’t tolerate behavior like this. There are bars and ‘other’ places to go for sex if you are that desperate. If that doesn’t work for you, try trolling the internet but stay out of the bathrooms!

  39. Media Watchdog says:

CBS is on notice – this irresponsible “journalist” will no longer be tolerated.

    1. Keith Olbermann says:

you need to be more tolerant

  40. webcam as spycam says:

It is the best time to make a few plans for the future and it is time to be happy. I’ve read this publish and if I could I wish to recommend you some interesting things or tips. Perhaps you could write next articles regarding this article. I desire to read more issues approximately it!

  41. Johnson Tan says:

Great beat ! I would like to apprentice at the same time as you amend your site, how can i subscribe for a blog site? The account helped me a applicable deal. I have been a little bit familiar of this your broadcast offered shiny transparent concept

  42. antmatt says:

I for one will never watch KCAL OR KCBS again. I won’t bother myself getting caught up in the me against you commenting. Some people are idiots and will always be idiots. There is nothing I or anyone else can say that will change that fact. So I will move along and change the channel on my TV to NBC. I love Rachel Maddow. I highly suggest some you others check her out. As for the rest of you, Might I suggest KCAL’s sister station FOX11?

    1. Rush says:

too bad Keith Olbermann got fired from the Current, you’d like him.

      1. antmatt says:

I like to apply a dallop of schmear to the hind quarters of a willing toy poodle then go wicka wicka till the cops come

  43. concerned parent says:

blame the waste of taxpayer funds on the criminals not the police!

People need to realize no parent is going to bring their family to Manhattan beach if they feel it isn’t a safe for their children. grown men loitering around public bathrooms (frequented by children) looking for sex is very creepy.
