SANTA CLARITA (CBS) —  At least one person was killed when a vehicle went over the side of the northbound Antelope Valley (14) Freeway in Santa Clarita.

The crash caused a small brush fire and backed up traffic for miles.

Emergency dispatchers reported that, shortly before 9 p.m. Monday, passengers were trapped in the overturned vehicle.

Two firefighters reportedly suffered smoke inhalation injuries while trying to rescue the deceased victim inside the car.
