SIMI VALLEY (CBS) — Police announced Friday the arrest of three suspects in a heroin drug bust that netted over $300,000 worth of narcotics.
Jose Alfredo Carillo-Flores, 23, Jospeh Ramirez Ortiz, 20, and 40-year-old Jose Median Zepeda have been arrested on drug related charges.
The Simi Valley Police Department, Los Angeles Police Department and the DEA announced the arrests and the culmination of the six month long narcotics investigation Friday.
The investigation began in September of 2011 and resulted in officers confiscating five pounds of heroin, approximately $120,000 in cash and five cars.
“At the rate they were doing business over a one-year period, that would equate to a $6 million a year business,” said Lt. Dave Livingston of the Simi Valley Police Department.
Officials said the drug ring was a major pipeline into Los Angeles.
