Angels-Royals Get Testy In Spring Tilt

TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — Albert Pujols had four hits and three RBIs as the Los Angeles Angels rallied from an early seven-run deficit to defeat the Kansas City Royals 11-8 in a spring training matchup Thursday.

Things got testy in the second inning Kendrys Morales, Mark Trumbo and Hank Conger hit back-to-back-to-back homers off Royals starter Everett Teaford, who had been staked to a 7-0 lead. Teaford then hit Peter Bourjos with the first pitch, and the two appeared to yell at each other as Bourjos went to first base.

Angels manager Mike Scioscia glared in the direction of Royals manager Ned Yost. A few pitches later, Scioscia walked out and got into an argument with plate umpire Dana Demuth.

It seemed to rally the Angels, who scored five times in the inning and added four more in the fourth to take a 9-7 lead they wouldn't relinquish.
