VAN NUYS (CBS) —  A Burbank man was charged Thursday with the stabbing death of his estranged girlfriend, whose body was found dumped in a North Hollywood park.

Stephen Todd Joanou Jr., 25, is scheduled to be arraigned April 12 in Van Nuys Superior Court on a murder charge stemming from the slaying of Patrina Sabella of Rosamond.

The 32-year-old woman’s body was found around 2:15 a.m. Tuesday near a baseball field at Weddington Park South in the 10600 block of Valleyheart Drive. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Joanou was arrested later that afternoon.

The criminal complaint alleges that he has a felony conviction for grand theft person in 2010, along with felony drug convictions in 2007 and 2009.
