State Names 250 Leading Tax Delinquents
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — They owe a combined half-billion dollars.
California's Franchise Tax Board has released a list of 250 of the leading delinquents -- some involving personal income and others corporate taxes.
One couple owes more than $14 million; everyone else on the list owes at least $100,000. Some of the liens date back more than 5 years.
The state reports their estimated tax gap is $6.5 billion representing about 10 percent of the populace.
