2 Suspects Wounded In Deputy-Involved Shooting In Hawaiian Gardens
HAWAIIAN GARDENS (CBS) — Two suspects were wounded Thursday in a confrontation with sheriff's deputies in Hawaiian Gardens, a sheriff's department lieutenant said.
The detectives, who work in the narcotics division, were aided in the confrontation by a police officer from La Verne.
The shooting occurred at 3:25 p.m. at Horst Avenue and 216th Street, said Lt. John Hocking of the Sheriff's Headquarters Bureau.
The suspects suffered non-life threatening injuries, but no law enforcement personnel were hurt.
A car crash related to the confrontation was reported a short distance away.
