Autopsy Results Expected For Panorama City Teen Who Died After Party

PANORAMA CITY (CBS) — Autopsy results are expected to be released Monday for a 17-year-old football player who died after attending a party where teens were drinking alcohol.

Salvador Preciado’s mother, Irma Guevara, believes heavy drinking at the party on Friday night led to the Panorama High School student’s death.

Guevara says she found Preciado, who appeared to choke on his own vomit, on Saturday morning.

The teen who threw the party spoke with CBS2 over the weekend.

“We threw this party for my friend’s birthday. Everyone brought their own drinks, and everything just got out of control,” the teen said. “Everyone was drinking a lot, but he was drinking too much, like he didn’t have self-control. After he passed away, I heard it was his first time drinking.”

Preciado’s friends say he had fallen off a table and hit his head.

      Gaby,

Wow! Are you sure your in high school? Your English writing skills are HORRIFIC. Kindergarten students write better. You friend died because of his own negligence. This should serve as a good lesson for all of you high school kids that think its cool to drink. Keep it up.

He might have been a good kid we aren’t saying other wise but both the coach and Salvador made wrong choices that day. I personally don’t think the coach is at fault but also he could have prevented a death, the coach tried to do a good thing and most likely is going to get in so much Sh–t for it. My condolences go out to the family of this kid and also to that coach because his career is now ruined for trying to be nice guy.

P.S he wasn’t a star athlete in wrestling, may he rest in peace

  2. Maria says:

Sad that he died but lets not forget that this was 110% the kids fault. He VOLUNTARILY went to the party and VOLUNTARILY overloaded his system with alcohol. And I’m pretty sure his Hispanic parents parental skills contributed to his stupidity.

    1. Rebecca says:

Uhm @Maria, I’m of Hispanic background and my Hispanic parents have done a better job than a lot of the ‘white’ parents I see in my community. I don’t drink nor smoke, and I’m past my 21 years of age. That’s very rude and ignorant of you to say.

    2. blahblahblah says:

@ Maria Here’s a tip to better your life…Visit a church that has many members of a different race. Understand how much in common you have with those who are of a different racial background and enjoy your non ignorant life

    3. A says:

Maria you’re an idiot. What does being Hispanic have to do with it?

  3. Jimmy Santos says:

That is jsut so so sad, I cant even beign to iagine dude. Seriously.

I hope that this young man’s friends are viewing this post.

Don’t be mislead about the passing of your friend. He made a very bad choice and he paid for it with his life. Don’t be fooled into thinking that this is something that just happened. It could have and should have been prevented and he should be alive today.

Izzy:( , your assumption that everybody drinks or drank in high school is wrong. Not everybody did or does, but it looks like everybody did at that party and your friend is dead because of it. Someone needs to be held accountable for that.

From what is being reported it sounds like your friend either died from alcohol poising or died choking on his own vomit in front of his mother and is currently being cut open to find out exactly what killed him. That’s is the painful truth and there is no way getting around it.

Though you are in pain, each one of you will go on with your lives. Most of you will graduate, go to college, get a job, marry and have children. Sadly, his mother will never see any of this for her child and she will go to her grave knowing that she outlived her son. No mother should outlive her child, it is a pain that never dulls and never goes away.

At 17, no one should be experiencing alcohol.
