SANTA ANA (CBS) — A former music teacher at three Roman Catholic schools in Orange County was convicted on Thursday of molesting four female students.
Hong Thai Luong, 54, was arrested in October of 2008 on charges of lewd conduct alleged by four girls between 8 and 10 years old. The accusations stemmed from his time teaching music and choir at St. Polycarp, St. Callistus, and St. Columban’s Catholic schools.
He was arraigned on three felony counts of lewd and lascivious acts with a minor.
Luong, who also goes by the name Howie, also served as a part-time tutor at Paramount Learning Center in Long Beach.
Luong faces up to 14 years in prison when he is sentenced on April 27.
