PALMDALE (CBS) — Rescuers Tuesday airlifted a driver whose car went off the side of Angeles Forest Highway 15 miles south of Palmdale.

Sky9 was overhead when Los Angeles County firefighters rescued the victim, whose car plummeted 100 feet from the road above.

It took 30 minutes to hoist the driver, who did not suffer any major injuries, to safety.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash.
