NEWPORT BEACH (CBS) — Authorities have identified a man who was found dead on the beach Wednesday night.

Officials say Nino Nobles, 49, of Irvine, was found at about 5:30 p.m. near Coronado Street and East Ocean Front. He was identified Thursday by the Orange County Coroner’s Office.

Nobles’ body was found near the shoreline, but there was no evidence the body had washed ashore, police said, and no signs of foul play.

An autopsy on Nobles is pending.
