ROY, UTAH (CBS) — A body found buried in a Utah backyard has been identified as a missing San Gabriel man.
Coroner’s officials identified the man as Victor Flores. The 25-year-old was last seen on May 7 leaving Southern California for Utah. He was promised a construction job there by Daniel Rivera.
Last week, a tip lead police to the home of Rivera’s girlfriend, Sarah Munn. Several days later, they unearthed Flores’ body in her backyard, The Salt Lake Tribune reports.
Police say shortly after Flores left, Rivera rented a tractor and dug a hole in the backyard of Munn’s home.
Rivera dug the hole to put a trampoline in the yard, but was later filled in because it was the wrong size, according to officials.
Detectives are now investigating Flores’ death as a homicide.
Rivera, 33, is currently in prison serving a sentence for an unrelated crime.
